Mount the ballast on a sturdy, non-flammable surface. As the Compact dissipates its heat through its casing, ensure that there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
Make sure any protective plastic coverings on the reflector are removed before switching on the system. To prolong the life of the lamp, always allow the lamp to fully warm up for 5 minutes before switching it off; after switching off the unit, leave the unit off for at least 15 minutes before switching it back on again. It is important that the lamp is free from smears, fingerprints etc. Wipe with a clean dry cloth before use.
Mount the reflector in a suitable position then screw the lamp into the reflector’s socket firmly to ensure a good electrical contact. Plug the reflector into the ballast, ensuring the connectors are firmly pushed together. Switch on the power to the unit and within 30 seconds, the lamp will ignite and after 5 minutes illuminate to full brightness.
